Smalland: Survive the Wilds is a game about small human beings in a dangerous way of insects. Players can survive in different weather conditions, fight against insects, build their own house and create things. There are a decent amount of items in the Smalland game, from clothes to decor elements in the house. As you progress, you will have to achieve technological perfection gradually. Smalland was created by the developers at Merge Games, who managed to provide players with a very impressive product.
Last time, we completed a task from the character Lysander, to whom the character Skadi sent us. As in the previous tasks, we help the tribe to protect themselves from giant insects and complete the main task from the Elder. Already during the period of the task from Lysandra, we had new survival tools that we will have to use in the future.
This time we are going to the Nok character, where we will have to complete a similar task. Our task will be to defeat the giant insect boss “Black Hornet”. Already at the beginning of the task, we will be able to get new resources and start the production of new items. Of course, before attacking the Black Hornet boss, we must prepare as much as possible.
In the article we will tell you how best to defeat the Black Hornet boss. To prepare, you will need to collect all the most necessary resources and make important things, including weapons. It should be noted that good preparation for the upcoming battle greatly facilitates its passage. At the same time, without good weapons and armor, the victory of the boss is very difficult and defeat is likely.
The road to the character Nok.
After completing the task from the character Lysander, we have a new point of arrival on the map, the character Nok. The road to it is simple, you need to climb up the mountain and move in the direction. From hostile insects, beetles and a new species of “Hornet” can be found. Most insects will require cutting, piercing and crushing weapons.

Arriving at the place, the character Nok will tell you that a giant insect “Black Hornet” lives in its area. To protect the tribe, you need to defeat the boss, and as a reward, Nok will make a good set of Iron Armor armor. But, first you need to bring Nok “Sapphire Wings”, which can be collected from the body of the “Black Hornet”. Also, Nok will be able to provide us with technology to quickly move a long distance, the Catapult structure.

It should be noted right away that the Black Hornet boss has an additional poison attack and inflicts piercing and crushing attacks. Given two active attacks, we are preparing a defense against one of them, that is, we are defending against a poison. To protect against direct attacks, we need a good set of armor. You can craft armor when completing a quest from Nok with the characters Drustan and Myrmek.

The following armor sets are currently available: Monarch Armor Set, Ant Armor Set, and Bone Armor Set. Of the three possible armor sets, the most suitable armor would be the “Monarch Armor Set”, which allows you to fly. The other two sets, “Ant Armor Set” and “Bone Armor Set”, have more protection, but are slightly more expensive to manufacture. To defeat the Black Hornet boss, the Monarch armor will do, and Myrmek does not make sense to produce armor sets.
If you already had the character Drustan, then you should already have the “Monarch Armor Set”. If not, then it is advisable to go a long way to another part of the map and get to the Drustan character. The Monarch set will allow you to fly and give additional protection to sharpened weapons. You can produce for resources: “Bee’s head” 3 pieces, “Flap of cloth” 15 pieces, “Chitin” 30 pieces, “Insect wings” 10 pieces and “Amphibian skin” 5 pieces.

Armor of the Monarch gives good protection to the hero and allows him to fly. At the same time, the Monarch’s armor has a significant drawback, it does not protect well from the cold. Therefore, it is recommended not to throw away the Primal Armor Set, which was produced by Skadi. In addition, it will be useful to have at least one “Fairy Chowder” slot to increase protection from the cold. We recommend Fairy Chowder because it has the easiest recipe to make. To prepare “Fairy Chowder” you will need a leaf of garlic, a heart of a beetle, and insect fat.

Additional protection will never be superfluous, as it will increase the character’s survivability. Given the attacking moments of the boss, you need to collect a suitable defense against poison and increase stamina. Also, it is advisable to stock up on health elixirs and healing patches in order to restore the character. If you collect everything you need, then the passage will be much easier than without the available items.
Antidote and Potion Resistance Potion.
The production of “Antidote” and “Potion Resistance Potion” will require a poison gland, seed oil and boiled toadstool. Poison gland is obtained from spiders and wasps, 1 piece falls out from one insect. Boiled toadstool can be found in the Lysandra region or in the Drustan region, if you go from it towards the house and go down to the left side of the mountain. For the fight against spiders, it is better to stock up on a good amount of bandages and “Healing Band-Aid”. It is advisable not to spend “Potion Resistance Potions” on ordinary spiders, but leave them on the boss. To defeat the boss, you will need about 3 Antidotes and about 10 Poison Resistance Potions.
Elixir of Health and Tonic of Stamina.
The elixir of health will require nectar, petal and seed oil. You can find and get these resources from the flowers “Poppy”, which should grow closer to the main tree. It is advisable to produce 2-3 cells of “Health Elixir”, which will allow you to heal 60 units in 3 seconds. Of course, you can get by with “Healing plasters” in the amount of 3-4 cells. But, 2-3 cells of the “Elixir of Health” and 2-3 cells of the “Healing plaster” are better. This should allow you to stay on the battlefield for a long time.

Surprisingly, during the passage of the task from Nok, there are few new weapons. Therefore, you will have to go with what is available. You can try to fight with Lysand’s quest period weapons, in which case it will be a little harder to win. Or try and get a weapon that is located in the Nok location, “Stinging Spear”.
Chitinous bow.
The weapon “Chitin Bow” becomes available for creation, immediately after receiving the first resources “Fortified Chitin”. You can produce the weapon “Chitin Bow” in the “Workbench”, for the resources “Fiber” 8 units, “Silk Thread” 3 units, “Processed Wood” 4 units and “Reinforced Chitin” 10 units. The amount of Reinforced Chitin resources may be a little too much, but the weapons are worth it and will make it easier to defeat the Black Hornet boss.
The Chitin Bow deals 26 to 32 damage, with a 5% chance of a critical hit. One shot costs 30 points of stamina, and the durability of the weapon is 450 points. Can shoot any arrows that are available in production. Also, the Chitin Bow weapon has a movement speed penalty of 60%. Shooting accuracy is average.
Sting spear, secret weapon.
The weapon “Stinging Spear” is secret and appears in production after being in a secret place. You can find such weapons in the sewers, where there are many cockroaches and flies. Before traveling to the sewer, you need to prepare well. First you need to get a good set of armor and stock up on a lot of “Healing Patches”, “Health Potion”. You will also need a decent supply of food, resources for a fire and spare weapons. It should be noted that the journey will not be superfluous, since the Stinging Spear weapon is very effective against the Hornets, including the Hornet boss.
After finding the weapon “Stinging Spear”, it can be started to be produced in the “Stone Cutting Machine” workbench. The Stinging Spear has two types of damage, piercing damage and poison damage. Piercing damage deals 20 to 28 damage, and poison deals 12 to 14 damage per attack. Stamina consumption is 25 units per attack, durability is 250 units. You can create for the resources “Insect Sting” 3 units, “Patch of Cloth” 4 units, “Processed Wood” 2 units and “Reinforced Chitin” 2 pieces.

Having collected everything you need, you can safely begin offensive maneuvers on the boss. Before the first attack, it is advisable to first activate the “Poison Resistance Potion” and “Stamina Tonic” potions. This will help you stay protected longer and attack more often. For long-range attacks, we use the Chitin Bow weapon, and when approaching with the Black Hornet, the Sting Spear weapon.
Sometimes we try to dodge and restore health with the help of “Health Elixir” and “Healing Band-Aid”. Both things will allow you to restore lost health in battle twice as fast. At the end of the battle, you need to drink the “Antidote” potion in order to quickly recover from the effect of the “Black Hornet” poison. I must say that the “Black Hornet” is not a very strong opponent, if you correctly and competently approach the preparation of the upcoming battle.

The most difficult thing is to collect the necessary resources for making potions. But if in the previous task you scored enough and you have leftovers, then there should be no difficulty. After completing the tasks from Nok, it is advisable to linger in the Nok location and continue to extract resources, such as Fortified Chitin and Iron Shards. Since they will be required for the next task. It is also important to first produce a good set of “Iron Armor” from the Nok character, and then go on to the next task. At the same time, it is not recommended to throw away old sets of armor.
