Wasteland 3 has a variety of talents that increase stats in combat. However, not all talents are equally useful. There are not very needed talents, despite their attractiveness. Since in fact the battles are varied and the enemy fighters have their advantages.
When choosing talents, you need to build on what class your character is. In the game, you can train a melee fighter as a tank, an archer as a support, or an attack aircraft and a sniper. These classes are used in different ways on the battlefield and have their own advantages over enemy fighters.
One character will not be able to pump all the available talents, since there will not be enough pumping points and talent points. Talent points are given to characters every 2 levels, after reaching level 4 of characters, one talent point.
This article will focus on additional bonuses that are more related to the character of the support class. Talents play more the role of additional ones, increasing opportunities in the game. For example, if you increase the armor indicators, then the characters will be able to hold out on the battlefield longer.
Well, you shouldn’t neglect additional skills either. If you don’t have at least one character with additional non-combat skills in your team, the game may not come out very easy. Additional skills allow you to make characters with certain directions, which give advantages in any direction.
In the sections “Working with the mechanics” and “Survival” you can study the talents for two characters. For one character, upgrade “Working with mechanics” and make him stronger in relation to robots. And the second character can be pumped through the section “Survival”, which will allow you to get priorities over animals and mutants.
Talent types in Wasteland 3:
Talents for the section “Working with mechanics”.
-
The talent “Weak point of construction”.
You can research at level 3. Gives an additional + 20% to damage to robots and vehicles. Considering that robots and vehicles meet in the middle of the game, it makes sense to upgrade.
Here, just for the character who doesn’t specialize in the Know-it-all talents. Since ude at the 3rd level has the talent “Block targeting”, which disables the enemy robot, and he goes over to our side.
-
Talent “Everything for Convenience”.
Unlocks at level 4 and gives bonuses to deployed units. After research, all combat units begin to receive an additional + 25% to health and deal more damage by + 25%.
If you use this technique a lot, it makes sense to research talent. On the battlefield, allied turrets take over enemy fire and act as decoys. Enemy fighters, in most cases, attack the turrets first.
-
Talent “Enhanced Armor”.
Available at level 5 and gives bonuses to restored vehicles on the battlefield. The repair adds maximum health by + 25%, the positive effect lasts for 3 turns.
We do not recommend spending a talent point. Since the summoned mechanisms disappear after the end of the battle. And in the course of the battle, their use more plays the role of cover and support, when the team is generally tight. And letting your ranger into the center of operations to repair the robot is not a good idea.
-
Talent “Strengthen”.
You can upgrade at level 7. Research increases the vehicle’s armor by + 5 units if it is repaired. Lasts for 3 turns.
We do not recommend pumping, as there will not be much priority on the battlefield. The same as with the previous talent “Reinforced Armor”. Better to leave a precious talent point for anything else.
Talents for the section “Survival”.
In this section, talents are quite controversial. In the “Survival” section there are only 2 available swinging talents. And the first one opens already at level 6. And this means that you can spend pumping points to waste.
-
Talent “Big Game Hunter”.
You can open it at level 6. The talent gives bonuses to damage to animals and mutants by + 20%.
We recommend pumping, as such opponents are encountered quite often. It would be great to have at least one such fighter on the team.
But, there is another side to this study. It opens at level 6 and there are no other additional bonuses before it. So, it’s worth considering whether you need to pump.
-
Talent “Research Instinct”.
Available at level 10. After exploring, the entire world map opens and you can see all the places.
To pump over or not, you decide. It is important to note that the talent does not reveal the locations of abandoned camps. And in such camps you can find valuable items. In addition, as you progress through the map, it gradually opens and there is an opportunity to get valuable items.
