Help Will Come Tomorrow is a new kind of survival game from the developer Arclight Creations. The game was released in April 2020 and gathered a sufficient number of fans. At first glance, the game does not stand out very much and it seems that you can get a small amount of pleasure from it.
About the plot.
During the October Revolution in 1917, civilians moved to Siberia. For some reason, the train crashed. Several characters managed to survive, and in winter conditions they need to find a way to survive. At the same time, in one place, they were lucky to meet citizens with different political views. Who should try to make friends and achieve good results through mutual support and help.
Our impression.
Having tried to play once, you already begin to understand that in a fairly simple game at first glance, a lot of experience and a thoughtful game process are laid down. The entire task, or so to say the mission of the game, goes through the survival of the characters in the location. On which the characters will need to survive and build their settlement or camp.
Each character has his own skills and profession. With which you can perform the necessary work. For example, “Cook” can cook good food and collect the necessary resources.
The survival process is well thought out and in some places quite realistic. In terms of well-thought-out game mechanics and available tools. Thought out such little things as the extraction of water and food, as well as essential resources. The extraction of resources itself is simple and does not require large skills and development time. The first resources can be obtained in the camp itself by clearing the snow for future buildings.
About the game process.
In order to get resources you need to go to the so-called global map. And choose the characters you want to go camping in search of resources. When the desired location is found and the group of characters is on the territory, you need to click the search button. After some time, it will be possible to see the resources found in the window.
In the search for resources, random generation is involved, where it is difficult to calculate which and which resources may appear. As well as the amount of resources sought. Sometimes animals appear on the global map in locations where it is proposed to chase or throw a stone. In our case, there was a decision to scare the animal away with a stone.
For every action in the camp or for the search for resources, you need to spend action points. In total, 3 points are given, but it happens because of a bad relationship between the characters or fines, one point is deducted. At the very beginning of the game, it is recommended to clear the place of snow for a fire and make a “Filter for water extraction”. And then act on the circumstances, depending on the initial parameters and requirements of the characters.
About fractions and relationships.
In the game there are so-called factions with political worldviews, all of them 3. Aristocrats, revolutionaries and characters with a neutral political perception. During the game, the team of survivors is set up in such a way that there are citizens from different factions. Citizens of one faction are not respectful or distrust citizens of another faction, which in turn complicates the process of survival.
Due to personal relationships, the game becomes difficult, and when performing tasks, the characters get fines. And spoil the relationship between each other, which ultimately can lead to the death of a whole group. Whatever this happens, you need to try to choose characters who are positively tuned to each other to complete the task.
It is interesting to develop each character and his skills and there is a desire to try his best skills. At the same time, one game day could have been completely completed in about 5-10 minutes, but in fact, left about 30. Since you need to think over and try to calculate future needs.
After the day, at night, group members gather around the campfire and discuss different stories. After which small problems are recruited and the relationship may deteriorate. It turns out, as it were, that I wouldn’t think through the action points in the daytime normally, the next day new surprises may appear.
