French light tank Renault FT

The French light tank Renault FT was put into service in 1917, and by the end of World War I, 3177 tanks had been launched. The total release amounted to 3800 cars. By the beginning of World War II, there were 1,560 Renault FT tanks in the French army.

By 1940, in the French armored forces there were 7 separate tank battalions (11, 18, 29, 30, 31, 33, 36 BCC), equipped mainly with FT18 vehicles, 63 tanks each. These battalions were attached to field armies. The material part was used as fixed firing points. Three separate FT 18 companies (343, 344, 350 Cie.A) with 10 tanks each were also formed. The remaining cars of this type were stored in parks.

In the prewar years, FT17 tanks (FT18) were exported to Afghanistan, Belgium, Brazil, Greece, Holland, Spain, Italy, Poland, USA, Finland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia and Japan.

At the end of the fleeting campaign in France, FT tanks captured by the Germans were used in police units and for the protection of airfields under the designation RzKpfw 18R 730 (f).

In the online game World Of Tanks, the French light tank Renault FT is on the first level and the development branch of the French tanks begins with it.

The French light tank Renault FT develops a speed of 21 kilometers per hour, it is a very slow tank at its level. And in general, this speed is one of the worst indicators for all tanks.

Booking is also quite low and allows you to avoid damage in rare cases from machine-gun shots and then being at medium distances.

The 37 mm APX SA18 cannon is also not very good, often with a full reduction in the middle distance, the projectile does not fly into the target.
