Gord detailed Guide and tips for beginners

Gord is a survival strategy game inspired by Slavic mythology. We are given about 7 settlers at our disposal at the start of the mission. Gradually, new residents are added to the settlement, who have their own characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. The Gord game has a sufficient variety of gameplay moments, from establishing the initial economy to combat operations. Apart from economic details, our citizens need to deal with illnesses, diseases and internal conditions.

The article describes the most important important points regarding the development of the “Palisade” and the development of the settlement. These tips will help simplify the process and save valuable people. You can find tips on construction, resources, misfortunes, character development and general faith.

Preface.

To solve economic problems, you need to build appropriate buildings and send existing residents to work. From the very beginning you will have to obtain simple resources such as “Food”, “Wood” and “Reed”. All these resources are not far from the “Palisade”, the erected settlement. But, resources tend to run out, then our workers will have to move further away to collect the necessary resources.

Inside the settlement, our citizens are safe until the enemy attacks. In the event of an attack, the security of citizens can continue until the integrity of the defensive walls ends. When the walls are destroyed, the inhabitants will have to arm themselves or fight with their bare hands. In this case, victory can be guaranteed by numbers and the use of defensive moments with the help of “Scorpio” or the presence of experienced fighters.

  1. Selecting suitable villagers in the game Gord.

At the start you can take only about 7 villagers. It is advisable to select the most trained ones for the initial team, with available bonuses for a certain profession. It is important to recruit good workers and warriors into the initial team. Since you need to quickly collect the required amounts of resources and clear the territory. It is advisable to take about 4 people to clear the territory, this will allow you to go further from the “Palisade” and find more resources. During the process, it is advisable not to lose professionals, as they increase the chances of winning.

Advice for new residents.

Almost all residents appear gradually, after some time. But, in most cases, children are born, and experienced people do not come. Children should be immediately sent to pray at the Temple, as this is the safest place while they are small. And then assigned to work in the food production buildings. It is advisable that they work near the “Palisade” and the most suitable job for children is collecting “Mushrooms”, since there is a low probability of injury.

But the most valuable will be trained settlers, who you need to find somewhere on the map yourself. The simplest ones will be “Vagabonds”, which you just need to pay and they will go under control. It happens that the “Vagabonds” are located next to the main base, sometimes they are a little further away. Other people will have to be rescued from cells, where you first need to fight with the guards. Therefore, exploration of the territory is a very important component of the development of the settlement; this will require good numbers and strong fighters. The sooner you can find new people, the better.

  1. Construction of buildings and structures in the game Gord.

The construction of buildings is key to the development of settlers. A small area is allocated for the construction of buildings, where the necessary rear ones can be built in the future. The territory inside the “Palisade” has boundaries in the form of walls, which can be expanded in the future. But, nevertheless, these territories may not be enough for the construction of all buildings. And without important buildings, defeat may occur and you will have to start the game over again. Also, a case may occur when it is not possible to expand the territory of the “Palisade”.

Advice for proper construction of buildings.

At the very beginning of the game, you need to set the correct area of the “Palisade” territory. The specified territory of the “Palisade” must have a “Square” or “Rectangular” shape. In this way, you can build significantly more buildings than in the “Round” “Palisade”. As you progress through the game Gord, missions may appear where you will not be able to build the “Palisade” yourself, which means the shape of the “Palisade” will be “Round”. In this case, you will need to immediately take into account and assume where it will be possible to build a building that takes up a lot of space. Such buildings include “Kapische”, “Kurgan”, military buildings and others.

At the same time, it is important that the gate during the construction of the “Palisade” faces the side with dry terrain; such terrain must have a continuation. This is necessary in order to be able to build the “Palisade Extension”. If there is a lake or river in front of the first gate, then expanding the borders will not work. Then it will be difficult to continue development and some buildings will not be able to be built, and without buildings there will be no priorities.

  1. Construction of “Outposts”, in the game Gord.

Outposts are additional bases that can be built far from the main Stockade base. In “Outposts” you can build several buildings, one production and several small auxiliary buildings. Such as “Meadery”, “Scorpion”, statues and “Shrines”. It is advisable to build “Outposts” around a good amount of “Food”, “Gold” and “Iron” resources. In our case, you can build only 3 “Outposts”. At the same time, it is impossible to demolish the outpost; if a task appears to build an “Outpost” for the purposes of the main mission, you will have to load if all 3 “Outposts” have already been built, or start over.

  1. Resource extraction, in the game Gord.

  • “Food”, “Wood” and “Reed” resources.

The first buildings to be built are those that produce resources, these are “Wood”, “Reed” and “Food”. In the “Food” part there are some points, since there are renewable and non-renewable food resources, these points need to be taken into account. Renewable resources include Animal Meat, Mushrooms, Reeds and Wood, while Fish is a non-renewable resource. Therefore, you need to understand what time of year is best to start collecting resources. In the summer, it is advisable to target “Mushrooms”; you can send there the maximum number of workers with the efficiency of producing “Food” and some for “Hunting” or “Fishing”. Closer to winter and in winter, workers need to be distributed between “Hunting” and “Fishing”. When the fish runs out, the “Hunt” will be the only place to obtain food in the winter.

  • Resource “Clay”.

The “Clay” resource is also the starting resource, which is required for the first improvement of buildings and structures. It is advisable to try to build it at an early stage of the game in order to get accelerated development and bonuses from production buildings. We collect “Clay” and immediately upgrade the “Food” and “Wood” production buildings, after which we need to have time to improve the “Palisade” so that the walls are stronger. After this, you can improve other buildings.

  • Resource “Gold”.

“Gold” is required to maintain an army, purchase valuable artifacts and items from merchants, and complete random events. At the initial stage of the game, the extraction of “Gold” is not provided; the opportunity to extract gold appears during the passage. The very first “Gold” can be found by exploring the territory and places, from “Corpses”, “Chests” and “Deposits in the form of slides”. In the future, “Gold” can be obtained by selling artifacts from the “Alchemist” and in the “Trading Shop” building by selling resources. But, selling items and resources does not bring a lot of gold, as it has a limit on the quantity. Therefore, the main way to extract “Gold” is to explore the area and mine “Gold” with the help of workers in the “Gold Mine”.

  • Resource “Iron”.

“Iron” is almost the same resource as “Gold”; it is found through research, purchase at the “Trading Shop” or extraction from deposits in special places. Required for advanced improvement of buildings and structures. This allows you to get the maximum number of bonuses from an improved building, more workers become available, an additional percentage increase and a stronger building. Upgrading to the last stage is very important, as the speed of the necessary resources and the chances of winning increase.

  1. Setting up resource extraction in the game Gord.

Each production building has the ability to set up a specific location for extracting the necessary resources. You need to click on the production building and click on the circle under the worker icon. After this, a bird’s-eye view will appear and you can view a very large area of the territory. Can be used to set up special resource collection zones. And also to carry out reconnaissance of the territory, for the presence of terrain and search for resources when the territory has been explored.

  • Automatic resource collection mode.

By default, resource collection is in the automatic position, in this case, all workers will go to collect resources in the explored places. This approach simplifies the collection of resources, but does not guarantee the survival of the worker, since he can go very far from the “Palisade”. This method of collecting resources is suitable when a very large part of the territory has been cleared of hostile creatures. Allows you not to focus on the availability of resources. The only problem with sending a worker into a large area will be Sanity, which runs out quickly.

  • Manual resource collection mode.

You can configure resource collection manually and specify an available location for resource collection. In this case, the survivability of the worker increases, but downtime may occur after collecting all the resources at the specified location. It is recommended to use it if a large area has not been cleared of hostile creatures. This approach will simplify the control of workers, since it is guaranteed that there is no danger in a certain area.

  1. Initial character development in the game Gord.

In the Gord game, all existing residents can gain experience while working in a certain position. Experience is gained from all available interactions, from resource extraction work to military experience in battles. There are 5 levels in total for certain areas. Each level increases the efficiency of the worker and fighter. In the process of their development, characters can master all professions and level up to level 5 if they have time. But there are some characters who cannot work in any direction at all, so we have to send them to other jobs.

To increase the level of a certain profession, you can find special scrolls and artifacts in the vastness of Gord. Scrolls will allow you to immediately gain additional experience, and artifacts will double your level if you increase, if not above level 4. At the beginning of development, it is better to collect such things by workers who are assigned to a specific position. This will significantly speed up character development.

Advice on leveling up characters.

Try to send characters to jobs where they can gain additional experience for development. For example, below the direction you can see the character’s bonuses, it can be + 30% or – 20%. That is, assign a profession to a character who has additional positive experience in the process of work. This way you can level up your character faster and get the maximum benefit from him.

It also happens in the game that there are not enough people and resources due to various circumstances. Then you can move away from the recommendation with additional experience and assign to the required position. In this case, the worker will extract fewer resources per second, but such resources will be available. Except in cases where the settler cannot work in a certain direction at all.

A shortage of people is a very common occurrence, therefore, when resources are available in the required amount, it is advisable to start pumping up newcomers. This will allow the lost rate of development to be maintained in the future when the specialist becomes ill or injured. Poorly upgraded settlers are workers who can be useful in different areas. For example, you can take on fighters when clearing the territory, hold the necessary artifacts and simply help more experienced ones collect resources.

  1. Sanity, in the game Gord.

Sanity is an indicator of the settlers’ state of mind; if the level drops, the settler begins to experience anxiety. The settler may develop mental illness or leave the tribe altogether. For example, the “Rampage” disease, where the messenger begins to attack his own, so that the victims may die. Or, “Greed,” when a sick person begins to steal artifacts from the pockets of settlers, and then put them in one place. Only the “Witch”, who has yet to be found on the map, can cure such diseases.

Council on Mental Illness among Homesteaders.

At the beginning of the game, we are just beginning to explore the map and area, so it is not immediately possible to find the location of the “Witch” or “Hermit”. Therefore, we have to look for solutions from possible methods. You will have to keep an eye on the “Rough” townspeople and it is not worth leaving them without other adult settlers when he begins to row on him, they attack him and calm him down. Those sick with “Greed” greatly hinder the development of a settlement, since the theft of valuable artifacts from warriors makes them weaker. You have to return, pick up the stolen item and give it to the owner.

This really takes away from the development process and forces you to switch your attention to completely unnecessary moments of the game. Therefore, the most appropriate solution with the mentally ill, while the “Witch” has not yet been found, is to remove them away from people. To do this, you need to build an “Outpost” and a production building with nearby resources, and then assign such villagers to work in this place. Or he will appoint a worker to the position and place him behind the walls of the “Palisade”, near the walls. They can just stand there and not interfere with others’ work and development. At the same time, their “Sanity” does not drop, and when the “Witch” is found, they must be immediately sent for treatment and returned to work.

  1. Faith, in the game Gord.

Faith is a powerful resource that allows you to use magic. Each person has his own “Faith” container, which gradually runs out and can be filled to a certain amount. It is advisable to sometimes send workers to pray in the “Temple” in order to accumulate “Faith” and apply it during battles. Magic will restore the health of settlers, speed up their effectiveness and deal damage to enemies. Therefore, the indicators of “Faith” are important, without which it is difficult to speed up the passage.

  1. Misfortunes or sacred bosses in the game Gord.

Each map has its own unique “Adversity”, which is neutral and requires the completion of special tasks. In the process of completing the main task, an additional one may appear, where you need to meet with the “Adversity” for some time. If the meeting does not take place, then “Attack” will attack the settlement with its abilities. It will be very difficult to fight against the scourge, since they have a large supply of health, have special attacks and can restore their health.

Advice on “Adversity”.

It is advisable to postpone the meeting with the “Adversity” and meet when the time is almost over. This will allow you to focus on economic and military issues, as well as prepare a little. After the first meeting, you can complete the first task and receive a good reward. But this will require some time and, in some cases, the presence of good fighters with decent numbers. If you still decide to attack “Attack”, you will have to assemble an impressive army of trained “Axe”, “Archers” and “Spears” fighters. An impressive number, this is almost the entire composition of the settlement, including workers without weapons, but with existing artifacts.
