There are many clans in the Northgard game, and each clan has its own special advantages that allow you to create a counterbalance on the battlefield. Each clan has its own heroes, who are of key importance in the development of the clan and the conduct of hostilities. In different clans, the number of heroes is different, as well as their strengths. Some heroes can be upgraded by upgrading in “Giving” and “Career”, others additionally with the help of artifacts.
To defeat the enemy, you need to know all the chips of the clans and use them effectively correctly. Some clans have a good priority in terms of production, others have good military qualities. Some clans have balanced characteristics and perform the role of support, they can fight well and produce resources.
Clan “Rats (Dodsvagr)”.
Busy with constant survival, the homeless outcasts of Dodsvagr work tirelessly. They have learned to capitalize even on pain, complexity, and death. With the war maiden Eir at their head, the shamans heal wounds as surely as they inflict.
The Rat clan (Dodsvagr) is the only clan in Northgard that does not have a separate “Home” building. This complicates the game a little and, on the other hand, simplifies it, since you no longer need to waste space on the “Home”. We’ll have to get used to and navigate the strategy of the game clan “Rats”. For a fine on “houses”, the clan gets the opportunity to build two buildings of the same type, which allows you to make the most productive and most numerous.
Disadvantages or problems of the clan “Rats (Dodsvagr)”.
-
Complex economy.
The clan “Rats (Dodsvagr)” has enough advantages. At the same time, advantages, in some cases, also disadvantages. For example, a clan needs food lands, as the clan seems to be greedy for Food, Gold, and Stone. With food, it’s clear that a lot of villagers need to be fed, but a clan can build two production buildings on the same territory.
At first it seems that the Rats clan can easily cope with a large population. Closer to 50 population units, it becomes salty to feed. And this is with three production zones, one has fish and meat, the other two zones +1 millet and +1 meat. On one territory alone, 4 production buildings can be marked out, each employing 3 workers. For 26 villagers, 45.1 units of “Food” are required.
“Gold” is needed for the maintenance of the constructed buildings. And you will have to build a lot of buildings in order to increase the normal population. Because of this, there is a need for a new territory. If there are few territories, then it is necessary to correctly distribute the construction of key buildings. Since the enemy can capture one important territory, and the entire economy can collapse. Such territories can be the production of “Food” or “Gold”, where the markets are located.
Therefore, you need to try to have time to capture additional territory for the production of “Food”. And try to place the production of “Gold” closer to the center of the base. The same applies to military buildings, as they provide space for fighters.
-
Weak army.
The “Rats” clan has a weak army, there are no additional and significant increases in characteristics. You can pump a military building, standard legends and the Pain Relief legend, which will increase attack by + 20%. In comparison with other clans, it is not very noticeable. Therefore, the “Rats” clan will have to attack the enemy in numbers, which will still have to establish a good economy.
For a large army of 16 fighters, you need about 3-4 food territories of “Food” and about 3-4 territories with the production of “Gold”. Moreover, such territories should be far from enemy borders. If at least one such territory is captured, then the entire economy will begin to collapse and the “Rats” clan may lose to another clan. Since, due to the lack of “Gold”, it simply will not be able to hire new fighters.
-
Weak protagonist Air.
To hire the hero Air, from the resources, you only need “Gold” 150 units. And if you look at the resources, then hiring a hero is easy, but it’s not. First you have to accumulate gold, and then recruit the number of villagers, there must be at least 10 people and a shaman. The shaman is needed to restore health, and 10 villagers are needed to be able to hire the hero Air.
Air has 12 attack, 9 defense, and 80 health. These indicators are quite low, almost like those of the governor, and if an enemy clan with Berserk appears, then you will have to work hard. On the front line, Eir can hold out with some neutral creatures, but the main position in combat is second row or wait near the borders. Because she doesn’t fight very well. Eir’s main role is to support in the form of a healer, not on the battlefield.
At the beginning of the game, in the fight against neutral creatures, Air does his job quite well. But, in the future, fighting against enemy clans is noticeably difficult. Since health points, defense and attack are not enough. Therefore, the main character in the fight against enemy clans is the “Incar nation of Grama”. Eir is desirable to be outside the battlefield and used as a shaman to heal allies.
-
The complex process of defining “Happiness”.
From time to time, in the “Happiness” tab, you can see indicators of penalties to the production of “Happiness”. It may not be clear to a beginner what this means and where it comes from. The thing is that the “Rats” clan constantly needs wounded residents. If there are a lot of villagers on health, then the penalty to the production of “Happiness. Such a calculation of “happiness” is only among the “Rats” clan. Interestingly, the larger the population, the higher the fine level. Out of 50 people, the fine was 30 wounded, which is more than half of the population.
To remove this penalty, you need to activate “Recycling”, which will increase production and create unnecessary worries in the clan’s territory. At the same time, “shamans” occupy separate places in the army, which significantly complicates the development of the clan. You have to choose between shamans or other fighters, constantly change to other fighters or leave shamans on the territory.
As a result, it turns out that in order to increase population growth, each territory must have shamans in each territory. If there are no shamans, then the villagers can be lost, and this will complicate the development of the clan. At the same time, it is also difficult to assemble a decent and numerous army, since shamans occupy military places.
Tips for playing with the clan “Rats (Dodsvagr)”.
At the very beginning of the game, on the territory of the Town Hall, you need to build a Lumberjack Hut, a Scout Camp and a building for sailors in order to produce legends. As a scout, we are looking for free and fertile neutral territories near the Town Hall, we colonize them first. We build one producing building “Food” and wait for the first point to upgrade the legend. We populate the villagers. You can build a “Shaman’s Hut” to heal the villagers and arrange “Recycling”.
When 80 lore units are collected, you need to spend them on the study “Overpopulation”. Thus, we can already build 2 identical buildings on the same territory. We add more buildings of the same type on the fertile land, for the production of “Food” and send villagers to them. For sailors, you can build another building near the Town Hall. In the process, we explore new territories and clear them with a shaman.
It is important at the beginning of the game to allocate territories for the “Market” and “Trading Post”, these buildings must be built not far from the “Town Hall”. It is important to capture a few more territories from these territories further from the Town Hall. Otherwise, it will be easy for an enemy clan to sneak in and disrupt the economy. In addition, “Markets allow you to purchase “Stone”, which is needed for building improvements, and this is an important detail for the “Rats” clan.
Further development proceeds from the priorities of the clan, we try to build buildings of the same type on the same territory. 2 lumberjack hut buildings, 2 peasant field buildings, and so on. Upgraded buildings should increase productivity gains by a few percent.
In an attack on enemy clans, be sure to take the hero “Incar Nation Grama”, otherwise it will be difficult to fight. The clan can allow the enemy clan to be taken by size. But, for this number, it is necessary to improve the economy, and it is very difficult to support 50 people. In addition, the resources of “Food” and “Gold” are needed.
A small guy for numbers.
To have an additional advantage if there are neutral kobold peoples near the territory, you need to help the “kabolds” expand the territory a little. To do this, you need to clear out other creatures in neutral territory and wait for the expansion of the kabold camps. After the Kabolds have captured the territory next to the clan, you need to attack and seize this territory from the Kabolds.
In this case, the “Rats” clan will receive additional places for its inhabitants if the “Invasion” legend is upgraded. Each neutral building can have 1 inhabitant. At the same time, the buildings of neutral creatures do not require the consumption of upkeep in “Gold”.
Tips for attacking other clans.
If the whole economy is normally established, then you can go on a campaign against an enemy clan. Since shamans are still warriors, they can easily be taken to the battlefield. But, we do not recommend starting a fight, it is better to leave it near hostile territory. In this case, shamans will be of great benefit, as they will be able to restore damaged allies.
The main combat units are the hero of the Incar Nation Grama clan and warriors with ax throwers. The hero Air can also fight and participate in the attack, but it is recommended to leave her next to the shamans. Since the hero can restore the wounded and has the appropriate ability. And if you send it to the battlefield, then the ability to use it will not work, since Eir’s own health is wasted.
When participating in an attack, it is not advisable to use “recycling”, since the villagers will also have to be restored. With poor happiness, villagers perform worse and may need to be recycled to stabilize population growth and resources. In this case, it is better to leave the villagers healthy in order to be able to repel at least the attacks of neutral creatures.
To attack an enemy clan, you will have to survive with a large army. This clan “Rats” can provide, it is important to establish the right economy. For a large army, you need a decent amount of military buildings. In order for one territory to bring more military, you need to build 2 military buildings of the same type in the same territory.
Conclusion on the clan “Rats”.
The clan has its own priorities in the vastness of Northgard. The Rats clan is not the strongest, as the army has small military bonuses. In addition, the hero Eir is weaker than the usual governor, this significantly complicates the development of the territory even when fighting neutral creatures. In military operations, the “Rats” clan can defeat another enemy clan only with a number that still needs to be increased, which is quite difficult.
